Validium: The Organisation

Validium was established as a specialist and independent Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider in 1998.

The company has a fresh approach to EAPs, focusing on reducing the impact of employee problems on the workplace, as well as supporting individuals with their issues. Validium continues to be run by its founder directors and the core of its business is in the provision of effective and high quality EAPs. Unlike many offerings in the marketplace, Validium concentrates on the delivery of high quality and value for money and does not cut service delivery standards in order to offer lower prices to gain a sale.

Since it was founded, Validium has grown rapidly - mainly by recommendation - and today offers EAPs to some of the UK 's leading companies across a wide range of industry sectors. Validium works closely with its customers to deliver EAP services that support their individual organisations by impacting sickness absence, retention, management capability and employee productivity. In addition, Validium gives employees and their dependent families effective counselling and information services to assist them with their work-related and personal concerns.

Validium also offers a range of complementary organisational support services including: helplines, standalone counselling services, post-trauma/critical incident support, stress management, psychological management and assessment, mediation and investigation, employee surveys, staff development and training, and consultancy.

Validium, the integrated EAP and HR consultancy, is continuing its rapid growth with the appointment of three new members of the management team.

Helen Knight, Toby Hardwick and Angela Gray have all joined the company which has offices in Glasgow and Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire and provides support services to a wide range of blue chip companies and financial organisations.

Previously with the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, Helen is the company’s first health and wellbeing specialist consultant and has seven years experience in human resources.

She said: “Health and wellbeing is a relatively new HR discipline but is becoming more popular. Companies realise they can’t afford to ignore the health and wellbeing of their employees as it can ultimately effect their bottom line – particularly if you have staff off sick for long periods as a result of stress or other work related illnesses.

“It is great to become part of the Validium team and help them to expand the HR side of their business.”

In his new role at Validium, Toby will be responsible for new business development as well as the account management of existing clients. Toby joins Validium from Imagine Co-operative Childcare and also has six years experience of working within the EAP industry at Counselling in Companies and Accor Services.

Formally a Business Manager for Xerox, Angela Gray has a proven track record in sales, client management, training and marketing. With Validium she will be responsible for new business and marketing, working on developing Validium’s client base.

The appointments represent an important step for Validium’s expansion, which since its launch in 1998, has become one of the fastest growing major independent EAP’s in the UK by providing its services to many of the UK’s leading companies across a range of industry sectors.
